I wanted to get in touch with a personal video message to everyone who has been patiently waiting for the re-issue of blink-182′s “Take Off Your Pants And Jacket”. You can view the video below. *UPDATE – 02/17/12*

We are excited to announce that we are approaching the ship date for blink-182′s “Take Off Your Pants And Jacket” deluxe vinyl release from Mightier Than Sword Records. Yes it has taken a long time to get these finished up, but we have made substantial progress in the past couple months and are in the final stages of production. The main issue that we have had to deal with is sorting out the triple gatefold jacket with the 3 slits to fit the bonus 7″s. This is a custom job, and needs to be 100% perfect to make sure the 7″s fit perfectly in the slits, and the entire package folds together nicely. We have scrapped numerous jacket types and have finally found the perfect jacket to get things finished up. We are waiting for a quote back from the pressing plant, and once we have that, we will start production on the jackets and the turn time is expected to only be weeks.

The first pressing is very close to being out of print, and we’re projecting the last couple copies will be sold by Monday. This pressing is the only one that will have the special foreward by Mark Hoppus, and the other incentives that we’ve offered over the past months to make-up for how long this pressing has taken. Also, due to the complexity of the jackets, there is a very good chance that the triple gatefold jacket with slits for the 3 bonus 7″s may only be available with the first pressing of this release. If that is the case, future re-pressings will be a standard gatefold jacket with the bonus 7″s sold separately, no fully encompassing package for the LP and 3 7″s.

If you decide that you prefer a refund, or have e-mailed for a refund in the past, we will honor your request and send you an immediate refund. If you decide to keep your order and wait out the weeks until these are finally ready to ship, we promise that the release that you receive will be top notch in both sound and quality, and well worth the wait.

The Hotel Year To Tour With Young English January 12th-21st

Welcome UK’s Tall Ships To The Mightier Than Sword Family

We are extremely excited to announce that we will be working with the very talented Brighton, UK-based band TALL SHIPS. On February 21st Mightier Than Sword will release the band’s 2nd EP, “There Is Nothing But Chemistry Here” in North America, and on vinyl for the first time.

The vinyl will be available on 180 gram black [/100], solid white [/200] and clear [/200], and up for pre-order now in the MTS Webstore with a limited amount of t-shirt bundles available. All orders receive an immediate digital download of the EP.

Brooklyn, NY’s Mightier Than Sword Records will release There is Nothing But Chemistry Here, the 2nd EP from UK experimental indie trio Tall Ships, on February 21. The EP will be available in the U.S. digitally and on vinyl for the first time ever.

Originally from the town of Falmouth on the south coast of Cornwall, England, Tall Ships now reside in Brighton. The band spent much of the last year playing UK festivals and last performed for American audiences during CMJ this past fall.

In describing one of their shows, British magazine The Fly raved: “There’s a distinctly tangible excitement in the air; an electricity in the crowd that fuels the trio from the beginning to the end of their set… with an inspiring energy that converts their complex, technically challenging tunes into visceral but intricate and delicate outburst of intelligent emotion – songs that tackle both the heart and the head, something clearly evident from the way in which the packed crowd sing their songs back at them…even the brand new songs, which are far from familiar, even to this dedicated crowd, garner the full attention for no other reason than the calibre of their compositions and the enthralling way they’re brought to life on stage.”

NME described There is Nothing But Chemistry Here as, “five tracks of post-Foalsian indie pleasure, all sharp edges, soft melodies and post rock nuances.” Gold Flake Paint Blog called it, “a fearless, bold and constantly inventive record that fully justifies the hype surrounding the band.”

Tall Ships are expected to return to the States for more shows this spring.

Las Vegas’ own LAST CALL recently stopped by the Punks In Vegas office to film an acoustic rendition of a brand new holiday song called “The Duke’s Real Name Was Marion Morrison”. You can stream the video here.

Punks In Vegas are teaming up with some of their favorite musicians this holiday season to raise money and awareness for music education, via The Manilow Music Foundation, a non-profit organization that donates instruments and materials to school programs. Be sure to check out this cause and support if you can!

Such Gold / A Loss For Words “Split” 7″/Digital EP – Vinyl Update

We are waiting on a firm update from the pressing plant regarding the vinyl for the Such Gold / A Loss For Words “Split” 7″/digital EP we recently released with our good friends on the West Coast, No Sleep Records. As of late last week, we were told the vinyl would be shipping in about a week, so we are expecting to receive the shipment notification any day now.

As soon as we know more, I will update this post and send out an e-mail to everyone who is waiting on the vinyl from us. Thank you for your patience and continued support. Vinyl takes a while to manufacture, but well worth the wait, especially for this incredible split release.

Citizen Join The Mightier Than Sword Family

We here at Mightier Than Sword are excited to announce our newest signing: Toledo, OH’s Citizen. This young group of dudes has been churning out awesome punk/indie jams for a while now, and have found a perfect home at MTS.

The band recently released their debut EP “Young States” digitally back in September 2011, and will release the vinyl LP of the record this January via Either/Or Records (US) and City Of Gold Records (UK). They’ll be entering the studio mid-January to record two tracks for an upcoming split with Virginia Beach, VA-based Turnover to be released Spring 2012 via Mightier Than Sword / Broken Rim Records.
